Sonny Amato, owner of “Artistry of Wildlife by Sonny” has been practicing taxidermy for over 46 years. He considers himself an Old Timer, learning the art in an era when taxidermy was a secretive business. Unlike today there were no schools, videos or seminars to teach aspiring taxidermists. He began practicing taxidermy at the young age of 16, and started his business shortly after. But the seeds of his success were planted much earlier than that. As a youngster his interest and fascination with wildlife led him to learn everything he could about all species. This fostered his desire to learn the art of taxidermy, as he wanted to preserve the beauty of these creatures that he so admired. 
 

Sonny learned by extensive reference study and hands-on experience. As a self taught taxidermist, he continued to learn everything about the evolving taxidermy industry, keeping abreast of the latest techniques, and best practices, always using the highest quality materials available. Now 46 successful years later his business continues to thrive and grow. 

Having vast experience in mounting all game, not specializing in just a few species, Sonny is very diversified in all areas of taxidermy. Taking great pride in his work he has the expertise to provide you with a superbly crafted quality mount with true lifelike features.
